Site Matters
From 1997 to 2001, over 140 artists set up studios in temporarily vacant space provided by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in the upper reaches of the World Trade Center's Tower 1. In an atmosphere of conceptual risk-taking, they produced a broad range of work, from panoramic cityscapes and discrete sculptural objects to physically integrated site-specific projects and new media performance. The residency was initiated to serve emerging and mid-career artists and encouraged conceptual and aesthetic experimentation. In this program retrospective, Site Matters documents an exceptional and atypical breadth of projects by some of today's significant young artists, including Stephen Vitiello, Paul Pfeiffer, Naomi Ben-Shahar, Monika Bravo, Gelatin, Patty Chang, John Pilson, Nadine Robinson, Sanford Biggers, Lucky DeBellevue, Emily Jacir, Jennie C. Jones, Kristin Lucas, Jennifer & Kevin McCoy, and Olu Oguibe. Punctuating art documentation are residents' snapshots of daily life at the World Trade Center, offering a more intimate portrait of the Twin Towers post-9/11. The residency program is currently located on unused floors in the historic Woolworth Building, also located in Lower Manhattan..

Boilerplate: The Foundation of Market Contracts
This book is about the fine print in contracts: the terms that individuals sign without reading when they click “I agree” or buy a plane ticket or engage in any common market transaction The book explores the relation between this phenomenon and the ideal of consensual contracts. It identifies problems that the unreadable language creates and how this affects the welfare of individuals. It reveals what it is that we truly agree to when we accept these mass-distributed contracts. And it explains how business uses these contracts to gain advantages, but also, in a variety of subtle ways, to improve competition..

Mortgage Markets Worldwide (Real Estate Issues)
The book provides a theoretical and empirical evaluation of different housing finance systems, presenting a collection of studies that describe various aspects of selected mortgage markets around the world. The uniqueness of the chosen markets lies in the fact that they represent not only different regions around the globe (Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Eastern Europe), but also understudied markets in different stages of economic and financial development. This book examines questions relating to housing finance efficiency and contract heterogeneity. In addition, it analyses the securitization experiences in these countries to provide lessons on how mortgage markets are integrated with capital markets and how particular institutional framework interacts with mortgage markets.

Short reviews are provided for each of the selected mortgage markets. The review will include institutional aspects of the markets such as: the size and structure of the market (including flows and accumulation of funds); a description of the competition and a presentation of the major competitors (including market share, major financial measures, etc.); profitability in the market, trends, structural changes, the major mortgage instruments and their market share, special tax issues, the role of the government in the market, defaults, prepayments, mortgage insurance, and major regulatory issues.

The analysis explores the major existing problems in the mortgage market of each country, the current steps adopted to solve these problems, possible propositions for dealing with the major issues in the future, and the implied future developments anticipated in the market..
