Cockney Reject
Jeff Turner was raised in Custom House in the East End of London, with seven siblings to share a three-bedroom council house. When the Sex Pistols' "God Save the Queen" hit, his brother Mickey picked up a guitar and Jeff picked up a microphone, and together they stormed the music scene as The Cockney Rejects. The Rejects stood for being young, working class, and not taking anything from anyone, resulting in agression and violence being the main staple at their shows. However, the madness couldn't last forever, and as chaos at the gigs spiralled out of control, so did the band. Jeff was left dazed and penniless, and here tells his story. .

Poetry and Politics in the Cockney School: Keats, Shelley, Hunt and their Circle (Cambridge Studies in Romanticism)
Jeffrey N. Cox refines our conception of "second generation" Romanticism by placing it within the circle of writers around Leigh Hunt that came to be known as the "Cockney School." Cox challenges the traditional image of the Romantic poet as an isolated figure by recreating the social nature of the work of Shelley, Keats, Hunt, Hazlitt, Byron, and others. This book not only demonstrates convincingly that a "Cockney School" existed, but shows that it was committed to putting literature in the service of social, cultural, and political reform..

Cockney Rabbit
Rhyming slang is an integral part of the English language and has been so for the best part of 200 years. The most popular belief is that it began as a secret language of the underworld, formed to confuse the 'peelers' and the casual eavesdropper The truth is that although its origins are confused, it is still very much alive and used today, with new phrases being coined and dropped into the language all the time. In Cockney Rabbit, Ray Puxley, born with Bow Bells ringing in his ears, has collected together all the old, familiar expressions, along with many new terms - some recorded for the first time - to create a sparkling, authoritative and highly entertaining dick'n'arrry of this ever-popular form of speech. With this book beside you, you need never be confused by Arthur Daley again! About the Author Ray Puxley is the author of the successful BritSlang (ISBN 186105534X) and More Cockney Rabbit (186105730X) books, also published by Robson Books..
