Catholic Controversy: St. Francis De Sales Defense of the Faith
After being repeatedly rebuffed in his attempts to re-evangelize Calvinist Protestants who would not listen to Catholic preaching for fear of reprisals, St. Francis resorted to writing leaflets and inserting them into copies of his sermons, then posting them on walls, slipping them under doors and handing them to anyone he could. Four years later almost 72,000 had returned to the ancient Catholic Faith! These tracts have been gathered together and entitled The Catholic Controversy. The works are still as fresh and powerful today and give some of the most cogent arguments against Protestantism ever penned, presenting a defense of the Catholic Faith that in some respects has never been equalled..

Baltimore's Own Little Italy Artist: the Artwork of Tony DeSales
Baltimore's Own Little Italy Artist: the artwork of Tony DeSales is a biography/art and a regional history book. It contains sketches and photographs of historic buildings, maritime scenes, churches and rowhouses in Baltimore City, Fells Point and Little Italy. Sketches of historical sites in Washington, D.C., Annapolis and New Jersey are also included. Captions of historical interest are provided with the sketches and photographs. The captions that accompany the artwork range from topics such as Italian and Polish immigration to the East Coast, a history of the founding of the Smithsonian Institution to the history of the Moran Towing Company and the Vane Brothers Chandlery operating out of the Port of Baltimore.

Tony DeSales was a Baltimore institution. He was a self-taught al fresco artist who sold his sketches of Baltimore, Annapolis and Washington scenes from his corner in Little Italy for thirty-five years. Fawn and High Streets is at the intersection of four Italian restaurants where Tony DeSales greeted tourists and made himself the center of the neighborhood. He took care of his mother, who often accompanied him on the corner while he worked. He introduced people to his mother and chatted with celebrities and locals who dined in the Italian restaurants. He did errands for the older Italian ladies in the neighborhood and had a significant influence on many of the local young people. He hand-published a small newspaper that contained stories, poetry and prose about the people of Little Italy.

Many visitors to the Baltimore area collected the artwork of Tony DeSales. He gave out postcards with his sketches on them to tourists and asked them to mail them back to him when they arrived home. The book contains a sampling of the postcards returned to him from all over the world. It is an inspirational story of a man who lived his life to express his artistic talents and who put relationships with people before all other pursuits..

Spooning: A Novel
Meet Charlotte—a.k.a. Charlie—Brown: a recent college grad and newly minted New Yorker, eager to begin her grown-up life. All kinds of “firsts” await her in the big city: her first real job, first loves, first heartaches, and most important, her first time living on her own. Enter Charlie’s mom, who subtly suggests that her daughter might want to learn some grown-up skills—like cooking—to go with her fifth-floor walk-up.

Together with her friends, Charlie forms a cooking club to convene once a month, to share food and swap recipes, and to gossip about the drama of their new lives.  Charlie has lots to dish about when she lands a job as an assistant to Jane Dough, the domestic diva of daytime television.  As the girls begin to gain some culinary expertise, Charlie decides to use her newfound skills to ensnare the man of her dreams: a certain Mr. J. P. Morgan, a roguish investment banker who can charm Charlie with a glance but remains hopelessly aloof. Yet as Charlie becomes ever savvier in the kitchen, she grows savvier about love as well—and begins to realize that even the most delicious-looking package can lack substance and real flavor underneath.

With a sparkling voice that bubbles along like champagne fizz, Spooning is an irresistible tale of food, friendship, and what it takes to find the perfect recipe for romance..
