From the supplier: Film director Mike Leigh considers his film 'Secrets & Lies' a representation about the ultimate unimportance of color in people's lives. A major statement of the film is the relationship between children and parents, and the former's need for the latter. While Leigh's screen characters are usually enhanced or ideal representations of real characters, the players in Secrets & Lies' are more natural. Despite its compassion, Leigh believes that Secrets & Lies still conveys the pessimism the director feels regarding the condition of the world in 2030.
