When it gets revised, the changes are published But it's rare that you get to see a reprint of the entire regulation with all amendments and additions included. This document takes the original HIPAA regulations with all the revisions and presents it in its one comprehensive e-document. If the regulators had known all the changes when they first wrote the regulations it would look like this document. It includes the Privacy, Security, Transactions, Identifiers and Enforcement Rules and it covers the period from August 17, 2000 through September 15, 2004.
The regulations are also made more readable by reformatting them from the three-column Federal Register standard into one column. Indentation makes it easier to understand, as does a larger typeface.
The intended audience is anyone who is already informed about HIPAA and who needs to a comprehensive and convenient reference. This is not a document that will teach you the meaning of HIPAA. It is a resource for those who already have a working knowledge of this ground-breaking regulation.
