Let Me In!
Inside the circle: Behind-the-scenes photos of celebrities by the fashion world's favorite photographer As one of the 21st century's most travelled, acclaimed, and influential fashion photographers, Mario Testino has unsurpassed access to the most magnetic stars of popular culture. For some time now he has been collecting a personal archive of off-screen moments, often snatched spontaneously before, during, and after more official sittings for Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Testino's many clients in the world of fashion. The result is a portrait not just of a generation of the most wanted and talked-about, but an invitation to be part of the backstage parties and unstaged moments of Testino's life. Sometimes offbeat, but always on the pulse, Let me in!, with Testino's eye for a modern kind of elegance liberated from conventional polish, is a new chapter from the photographer who has already made his mark with the books Any Objections, Front Row Backstage, Alive, Portraits, Kids, Diana Princess of Wales, and numerous exhibitions and publications worldwide. Features include: ? Introduction by Michael Roberts, fashion director of Vanity Fair ? Foreword by Nicole Kidman ? 300 pages in color and black and white featuring more than 100 contemporary stars.

Lima Peru: Edited by Mario Testino
Even as Mario Testino has become a royal image-maker in England and in Hollywood, where his portraits define the new glamour for a generation of stars, models and celebrities, he has cherished visions of the elegance and endless beaches of Lima, the city where he grew up. He has always confessed his love: "I'm very proud of being Peruvian, I would not want to be from anywhere else. I've lived in Europe for 30 years, but the moment I see our flag I get soppy." And he confesses it again here, though not in a traditional book of his own photography. For in Lima, Peru Testino make his first foray into the role of photo editor, celebrating the title city through the eyes of its artists, photographers, artisans and photojournalists. Of this project's genesis Testino says, "I wanted to capture Lima's positive chaos...I wanted to find a book which conveyed this--the way Lima's artists and photographers have captured their city's color and complexity, its art, its people and its buildings, its street life and its interiors. But no such book existed, and so I decided to edit one myself." In Lima, Peru, Testino sets sweeping views of the city's architecture opposite details of its ceramic tiles. He collects observations of the city's natural exhibitionists as well as those who would normally shy away from the camera. He showcases art, parades, religion, sex, football, market life, architecture, interiors, high society, the bourgeoisie, teenagers, soldiers, surfers, priests, bullfighters, brides, hostesses, street sellers, waiters, artists, dancers, musicians and sun-worshippers. This is a shimmering, kaleidoscopic view of the city--a considered, eclectic and detailed composite from a master portraitist..

Any Objections?
Fashion photographer Mario Testino takes pictures of what he sees--and what he sees most is models. His color-drenched fashion work is well known to readers of magazines like Vogue. He has a particular knack for catching famous posers off guard--Naomi Campbell looking over her shoulder as her exceedingly low-cut dress is zipped up her back(side); Carla Bruni, backstage at Dior, fully made-up and fully unclothed, shielding herself from Testino's spotlight. Madonna, perhaps his most famous celebrity muse, dancing offstage with her brother. All of these images are vibrant and compelling. But Testino's strength as a photographer is truly revealed when he puts his lens to less glossy images: a man's torso, crisscrossed with sheet marks; a stark black-and-white dual portrait of two young Muscovites; goldfish swarming in a plant-filled tank; a crowded, bronzed South American beach.

The hundreds of previously unpublished photographs that make up Any Objections? are reproduced on full pages of heavy, pearly paper, unfettered by captions (the photos are all easily referenced at the back of the book). If you don't think you'll be able to resist the urge to tear out the pages to hang them on the wall, you might consider buying an extra copy. .
