VOXEL-MAN Brain and Skull
atlases are the result of a
research project whose aim is to
investigate new computer-based
techniques for
representing the body's
anatomy and function. Although it exhibits unique novel features, is it still an on-going project. With its 10 million voxels (volume units of 1mm3), VOXEL-MAN is an ideal toll for teaching and studying anatomy on UNIX workstation computers or UNIX PCs. The 3-dimensional Brain and Skull atlases are based on a space-filling model of the human body. The Brain atlas is derived from MRI and contains a knowledge base with information about morphology, cortical function, blood supply. Histological images and textual description may be invoked in the context. The Skull atlas is derived from CT and contains morphology information only..
