From the supplier: The International Assn of Amusement Parks and Attractions has reported an increase in the use of metal detectors in amusement parks in the US. Although no figures were taken, it was reported that geography was a factor in the use of metal detectors. Parks in areas with high crime rates use the detectors as part of their security measures. Although there are some negative feedback from patrons, most of them appreciate the measures taken for their safety.
