The Book of Enoch, Complete Exhaustive Edition
Conflicting views are advanced on the Messiah, the Messianic kingdom, the origin of sin, Sheol, the final judgement, the resurrection, and the nature of the future life. There is an elaborate angelology and demonology, and much space is devoted to the calender and the heavenly bodies and their movements. Babylonian influences are here manifest and in a slight degree Greek. This is a translation by R. H. Charles from the Ethiopic Text with a complete analysis and notes. Considered indispensable to students of both the Old and New Testaments in understanding the problems underlying the Bible prophecies. In its present form the Book of Enoch is made up of various elements belonging to different dates and a diversity of authorship and more properly should be spoken of as "Books" of Enoch. One part belongs to the earlier Book of Noah. The following is an extract from Mr. Charles' quite long and detailed Introduction:. . . To describe in short compass the Book of Enoch is impossible. It comes from many writers and almost as many periods. It touches upon every subject that could have arisen in the ancient schools of the prophets, but naturally it deals with these subjects in an advanced stage of developement. Nearly every religious idea appears in a variety of forms, and if these are studied in relation to their contexts and dates, we cannot fail to observe that in the age to which the Enoch literature belongs there is a movement everywhere, and nowhere dogmatic fixity and finality. Though at times the movement may be reactionary, yet the general trend is onward and upward. In fact the history of the development of the higher theology during the two centuries before the Christian era could not be written without the Book of Enoch..

Why the Jews Rejected Jesus: The Turning Point in Western History

Why did the Jews reject Jesus? Was he really the son of God? Were the Jews culpable in his death? These ancient questions have been debated for almost two thousand years, most recently with the release of Mel Gibson’s explosive The Passion of the Christ. The controversy was never merely academic. The legal status and security of Jews—often their very lives—depended on the answer.

In WHY THE JEWS REJECTED JESUS, David Klinghoffer reveals that the Jews since ancient times accepted not only the historical existence of Jesus but the role of certain Jews in bringing about his crucifixion and death. But he also argues that they had every reason to be skeptical of claims for his divinity.

For one thing, Palestine under Roman occupation had numerous charismatic would-be messiahs, so Jesus would not have been unique, nor was his following the largest of its kind. For another, the biblical prophecies about the coming of the Messiah were never fulfilled by Jesus, including an ingathering of exiles, the rise of a Davidic king who would defeat Israel’s enemies, the building of a new Temple, and recognition of God by the gentiles. Above all, the Jews understood their biblically commanded way of life, from which Jesus’s followers sought to “free” them, as precious, immutable, and eternal.

Jews have long been blamed for Jesus’s death and stigmatized for rejecting him. But Jesus lived and died a relatively obscure figure at the margins of Jewish society. Indeed, it is difficult to argue that “the Jews” of his day rejected Jesus at all, since most Jews had never heard of him. The figure they really rejected, often violently, was Paul, who convinced the Jerusalem church led by Jesus’s brother to jettison the observance of Jewish law. Paul thus founded a new religion. If not for him, Christianity would likely have remained a Jewish movement, and the course of history itself would have been changed. Had the Jews accepted Jesus, Klinghoffer speculates, Christianity would not have conquered Europe, and there would be no Western civilization as we know it.

WHY THE JEWS REJECTED JESUS tells the story of this long, acrimonious, and occasionally deadly debate between Christians and Jews. It is thoroughly engaging, lucidly written, and in many ways highly original. Though written from a Jewish point of view, it is also profoundly respectful of Christian sensibilities. Coming at a time when Christians and Jews are in some ways moving closer than ever before, this thoughtful and provocative book represents a genuine effort to heal the ancient rift between these two great faith traditions.

The Messiah: Revealed, Rejected, Received
A mysterious figure called the "Messiah" is the central theme of the entire Bible. In this book that Messianic theme is traced from its announcement in the Old Testament through its development between the Testaments to its fulfillment in the New Testament. The book also examines how Jews and Christians have continued to debate this subject down until today. There are also some studies on fascinating related subjects like the location of the Temple and the ashes of the Red Heifer. While these chapters have been written from a Christian perspective, adequate attention has also been given to Jewish concerns. The Messiah was successively revealed, rejected and received. This book explains how and why that happened. "In this book, Will Varner has opened the Scripture to provide a readable, clarifying look at Jesus, the Messiah of Israel and the Savior of the world. Jesus once asked His disciples, "Who do men say that I am?" (Mark 8:27). That is still the most urgent question - - who is this Jesus? You will find the answer powerfully and convincingly provided in this outstanding book." John MacArthur, Grace Community Church, Sun Valley, CA and President of The Master's College.

The Gospel of Thomas, Revealed: Jesus rejected Judaism. Why?
The Gospel of Thomas is a collection of 114sayings and statements Jesus made to disciplesand followers. This Gnostic Gospel is one of 13ancient codices found near Nag Hammadi, Egypt,in 1945. These Gnostic writings assert a very differentperspective of early Christianity. Some of today'spopular movies such as "The Da Vinci Code" and"Stigmata" make references to the secret meaningshidden in the writings of Jesus in The Gospel of Thomas.

Disciple Didymus Judas Thomas encrypted these 114statements of Jesus challenging the dogma withinJudaism. When the church spoke of sacrificing animals, and taught waiting for the world to end, Jesus would saysacrificing animals was useless and no one needed to wait forthe Kingdom of Heaven to arrive. It was already here, right now,and ever present. Encrypting his words kept him out of prison. The Gospel of Thomas, Revealed untangles the meaning of theseencrypted sayings. Jesus offers his disciples and followers anew covenant, vastly different from Judaism and today'sChristianity, that guarantees followers who live their livesturning inside, practicing his new spiritual covenant, will findand experience the Kingdom of the Father long before death.Read what Jesus really thought.

Mission Rejected: U.S. Soldiers Who Say No to Iraq
Disillusioned, outraged, and betrayed, American soldiers are taking a stand against the war in Iraq.
A shattering journey of revelation, pain, and betrayal, Mission Rejected takes the reader deep into the turmoil of U.S. troops confronting the Iraq War. Some of these soldiers have decided not to fight in Iraq. Others, who have served in the “Sand Box” only to return so appalled by their experience and by what that experience has done to them, choose to declare, in the words of the old Phil Ochs song, “I’m not marchin’ anymore!”
Consider Specialist Jeremy Hinzman, who chose Canada over his military career. When queried about his obligation to follow orders, his answer came fast: “I was told in basic training that, if I’m given an illegal or immoral order, it is my duty to disobey it. I feel that invading and occupying Iraq is an illegal and immoral thing to do.” Meet Sergeant Camilo Mejía, who said from prison, “Behind these bars I sit a free man because I listened to a higher power: the voice of my conscience.”
Increasing numbers of U.S. soldiers are returning from Iraq horrified by what they witnessed and what they did. Journalist Peter Laufer tells how these soldiers are transformed from trained warriors to activists in the struggle to end the Iraq War. He puts their experiences into context by drawing on the lessons of the Vietnam War and citing the historical precedents for troops who refuse unconscionable orders.
Mission Rejected probes the universal issue of resistance to war by the very men who chose to defend the nation..
