From the supplier: The California Earthquake Authority (CEA) has reduced insurance rates in several areas of the state since Robert Hunter, insurance director for the Consumer Federation of America, testified in court that some property owners were overcharged. A judge ruled against recalling Hunter in another case filed by Selwyn Whitehead, of the Economic Empowerment Foundation, Oakland. The CEA's rates vary from approximately $1.14 to $5.25 per $1,000 of property value, according to seismic risk.
