The New Origami: Dozens of Projects Using the Newest Kinds of Origami: Modular, Puzzle, Storytelling, Practical, Symmetrical, and Layered
Origami paperfolders from beginners to experts will delight in this extensive new collection from the authors of Essential Origami. The New Origami contains dozens of original projects that employ cutting-edge techniques, including: modular origami (using interlocking pieces of paper); performance origami (accompanied by a story or explanation); geometrical origami (illustrating principals of geometry); kasaneori or layered paperfolding (using overlapping layers to create "ribbons" of color); puzzle origami (featuring interchangeable parts that create a brain-teasing effect); practical origami (making useable objects like envelopes, frames, and wallets); multiple symmetry (sinking, pleating, and folding to create symmetrical patterns and shapes). Each technique is accompanied by easy-to-follow, two-color illustrations. .

Guitar Secrets: Symmetrical Scales Revealed (Dimished & Whole-Tone; Book & CD) (Guitar Secrets)
Learning how to play and use scales has always been a large part of every guitar player’s practice schedule. Written from a player’s perspective, this book doesn’t get too in-depth into the history and classical theory of the scales, but focuses on their uses in contemporary styles such as blues, rock, fusion, and jazz. Includes tons of diminished and whole-tone lines, licks, and music examples; soloing and scale substitution from a player’s perspective; and new sounds and ideas. Written in standard notation and tab..

Radiative Transfer in Moving Media: Basic Mathematical Methods for Radiative Transfer in Spherically Symmetrical Moving Media
The advancement of observational techniques over the years has led to the discovery of a large number of stars exhibiting complex spectral structures, thus necessitating the search for new techniques and methods to study radiative transfer in such stars with moving envelopes. This led to the introduction of the concept of "photon escape probability" and the wisdom of expressing the transfer equations in "comcoving frames" (CMF). Radiative transfer problems in spherically moving media form a branch of mathematical physics which uses mathematics of a very distinctive kind. This text records the basic mathematical methodologies, both analytical and numerical, developed for solving radiation transfer problems in spherically symmetric moving media, in the consideration of macroscopic velocity fields only. Part one contains the basic notions of radiation-matter interaction in participating media and constructs the relevant transfer equations to be solved in the subsequent chapters. Part two considers the basic mathematical methods for solving the transfer problems in extensive moving atmospheres when it is observed in the lab frame. Part three introduces the analytical and numerical methods for solving radiative transfer problems in spherically symmetric moving atmospheres when expressed in the comoving frame..

Symmetrical English (Everyman Chess)
The Symmetrical Variation is one of Black's most popular and reliable methods of meeting the English Opening. It is a highly flexible system that can lead to a wide variety of middlegame positions. The early d5 systems can be highly tactical, while the Hedgehog variations rely on a solid strategic understanding. This book contains full details of all the latest theory, provides a thorough investigation of important concepts and variations and is written by a prominent openings expert. (6 1/4 x 9 1/4, 160 pages, diagrams).

The Symmetrical English
The Symmetrical systems of the English Opening constitute a large and important area of modern chess opening theory. The strategic variety to be found within this book is staggering: from the sedate Symmetrical Variation to the wild gambit lines of the Anti-Benoni, and almost everything in between! This book provides detailed coverage of the theory of all lines stemming from 1 c4 c5. It includes many variations that often arise from different openings entirely, such as the Semi-Tarrasch, or when White avoids a Benko or Benoni. A particular highlight is the discussion of the Hedgehog, which a popular workhorse for many tournament players, as it enables Black to play for a win without taking undue risks. Throughout the book, though, Hansen shows that in many lines regarded by a lot of players as boring or uninteresting, there is plenty of scope to liven the game up, if one is familiar with the subtleties..
