Michael Balcher of the Las Vegas Police
Department became aware of Sarah ‘Spooky’ Knight two years ago when she came into the
station after
witnessing a crime. His first sight of her
started a
prickly feeling on the back of his neck and, somehow, her presence has been making those very same neck hairs stand up ever since.
For the life of him, he can’t figure out why he’s so drawn to her. She’s not much to look at; skinny, shy, in desperate need of a good hairdresser and a few hours in front of the TV watching “What not to Wear”. She keeps a distance between herself and other people as if she can’t stand to be touched. She’s a brilliant private detective—her success rate is amazing—but something is really, really strange about her. Unwillingly, his interest in her is coming close to turning into an obsession.
It has taken two years, but after much internal debate and overcoming a few stumbling blocks of disbelief, he can only come to one conclusion.
