The Maisel Report: College Football's Most Overrated and Underrated Players, Coaches, Teams, and Traditions
Whether you saw winning national championships in the 1983 Orange Bowl or 2001 Rose, Ivan Maisel says there's only one true nickname for the Miami Hurricanes - the No. 1 most overrated program in college football history. Who's his most overrated Heisman Trophy winner? Only the star of Michigan's 1997 national championship team, the Wolverines' Charles Woodson. Michigan fans will join the rest of the Big Ten in lamenting Maisel's assertion that the conference is the most overrated in the NCAA.

The Maisel Report:College Football's Most Overrated and Underrated Players, Coaches, Teams, and Traditions by Ivan Maisel pulls no punches and takes no prisoners. With more than 20 years of sports journalism under his belt - including six with ESPN - Maisel has seen, talked to and worked with the best in the business. But he is setting the record once and for all about what are probably the biggest sports debates ever argued between fans.

Football fans will be stunned when they see where he ranked the following stadiums, coaches and players:

* Nick Saban
* Frank Beamer
* Eddie George
* Tim Tebow
* Charlie Weis
* Phillip Fulmer
* Bill Walsh
* Michigan Stadium
* Orange Bowl

Nobody is left out. Maisel goes through the best of college football's history, including sections on the most over/underrated moments, national champions, Heisman Trophy winners, stadiums and more.

The Maisel Report is not a fans' opinion of college football history, it is a detailed, highly-researched thesis that will make even the most die-hard fan of a team admit that their feelings have muddied their opinions and weakened all previous arguments about the who and what is the most overrated and underrated ever ..

The Stark Truth: The Most Overrated and Underrated Players in Baseball History
Every baseball fan knows New York Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter is a great all-around player. But how about Alex Rodriguez, Jeter's teammate, former American League MVP, and probable future Hall of Famer? Many would argue he's even better than Jeter. And what about Jeter's seemingly unassailable status as one of the greatest Yankees of all time? Such discussions highlight one of the great joys of being a baseball fan: arguing over who's really great and who falls just short, who doesn't get the respect he deserves and who gets too much. In other words, who's overrated and who's underrated..

Underrated
Contrary to popular legend, every dog does not have his day. Some dogs--i e., musicians, actors, foodstuffs, sitcoms, beverages, albums, and movies--are perennially overlooked. This book will change all that. Using a highly scientific, unabashedly subjective, yet uncannily accurate formula, the brilliant comedic minds behind Yankee Pot Roast can help you determine with absolute confidence whether something or someone is underrated (George Harrison) or not (Paul McCartney).

For example:Underrated
Good Times
Bubble Yum
Snapple

Not Underrated
Diff'rent Strokes
Big League Chew
Dr. Pepper

The UR (Underrated Rating) takes into account cultural, commercial, and critical appeal, as well as more nebulous but equally crucial factors like coolness and staying power.

Admit it--you've suspected for years that NewsRadio is a criminally ignored masterpiece. Now you can prove it..

Tsunami: The Underrated Hazard (Springer Praxis Books / Geophysical Sciences) (Springer Praxis Books / Geophysical Sciences)

Tsunami: The Underrated Hazard, 2nd Edition, comprehensively describes the nature and process of tsunami formation, outlines field evidence for detecting the presence of past events, and describes notable events linked to earthquakes, volcanoes, submarine landslides, and comet impacts. The author provides a clear approach to the study of tsunami, through dynamics, impact on coastlines, and overviews of the various major mechanisms of tsunami generation. Liberal case studies and examples highlight the significance of this underrated natural hazard for coastal societies. In particular, Dr Bryant studies in detail the great tsunami that struck the Indian Ocean on 26 December 2004, making it one of the largest natural disasters to occur in recorded history.

The book is divided into four parts. Part I considers tsunami as a known hazard, starting in Chapter 1 with legends and stories and questioning whether they are scientific fact or legend. Dr Bryant looks at the causes of tsunami, their distribution and fatalities in the Mediterranean and Caribbean Seas, the Pacific Ocean, New Zealand and Australia as well as in bays, fjords, inland seas and lakes. Chapter 2 studies the dynamics of tsunami, their characteristics, the wave theory and the run-up and inundation. In Part II tsunami-formed landscapes are examined, showing both the depositional and erosional signatures of tsunami in the coastal landscape, including chevrons and dune bedforms. The coastal landscape evolution is looked at in Chapter 4, comparing catastrophism against uniformitarianism and tsunami versus storms. Examples and types of coastal landscapes created by tsunami, particularly in Australia, Grand Cayman, the Bahamas and Chilean coast are also given. Part III looks at the main causes of tsunami: earthquakes, great landslides, volcanic eruptions and comets and meteorites. The modern risk of tsunami is covered in Part IV, detailing locations and avoidance, including warning systems. Dr Bryant ends this unique study of a fascinating subject with five stories of different tsunamis.

N.F.L. Black Quarterbacks Underrated
The reason I wrote this book about black quarterbacks being underrated and some being denied the opportunity to play as quarterbacks in the NFL is because of how people still perceive the black quarterbacks. There are at least six starting black quarterbacks playing in the NFL. Racism against the black quarterbacks is alive and well. I feel that white and black people need to wake up and realize that racism is still a problem in America. White people still want to believe they are superior to the black man. White people believe that to be a quarterback you have to be the most intelligent player on the field and have leadership skills. They only think that white quarterbacks have the intelligence to play as quarterback. That is why I wrote this book..
