Young Hope The Broken Road
This book was written to give others out there hope. There are a lot of books about Alzheimer's Disease that have been written, but there are not too many that are actually written by the person that is suffering from the disease When I was diagnosed with this horrendous disease in 2002, I wanted to find something that I could do to help others out there that may be struggling just as my family and I have. Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease is much harder to detect partly because of the stigma that surrounds it. But as the environment and our technology progresses forward hopefully our understanding will progress as well. In this book, you will read how the disease affects an individual and their families lives. You will feel the pain and the laughter and I am hoping that what I have written will help to remove the misconception of this disease..

Relationship of onset of cigarette smoking during college to alcohol use, dieting concerns, and depressed mood: Results from the Young Women's Health Survey [An article from: Addictive Behaviors]
This digital document is a journal article from Addictive Behaviors, published by Elsevier in 2004. The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Media Library immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser. Description: To investigate the issue of smoking initiation during college, we administered a survey of women's health behavior to college women during freshman orientation, at the end of their freshman year and again during their senior year. Never smokers (NS; n=374), early-onset smokers (EOS; n=52), and late-onset smokers (LOS; n=64) were compared on dieting concerns, mood problems, alcohol-related problems, and frequency of binge drinking episodes. By the senior year of college, 55% (64/116) of those who had smoked in the past month had started smoking during college, although they were more likely than never smokers to have experimented with cigarettes prior to college. Escalating depression during the first year of college, dieting concerns, and alcohol-related problems were significant risk factors for smoking initiation during college, while binge drinking appeared to covary with cigarette smoking. Results suggest that prevention efforts should target nonsmokers with high dieting concerns and escalating depression early in college, while intervention efforts may need to target not only smoking but also problematic alcohol use among smoking college women. .

Early-onset alcohol-use behaviors and subsequent alcohol-related driving risks in young women: a twin study *.(Report): An article from: Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs
This digital document is an article from Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs, published by Thomson Gale on November 1, 2007. The length of the article is 6031 words. The page length shown above is based on a typical 300-word page. The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Digital Locker immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser. From the author: Objective: The purpose of this study was to estimate associations between early-onset alcohol use/intoxication and subsequent risks of alcohol-related driving risks in young women after control for familial liability for these behaviors. Method: Self-reported data on alcohol use and associated risks were collected from a representative sample of 3,786 Missouri-born adolescent female twins. Results: Alter statistical control for familial liability to alcohol-related driving risks, alcohol dependence, and length of exposure to risk (i.e., time between the earlier of age at onset of drinking or age 16 [the minimum legal driving age in Missouri]), young women who reported early-onset alcohol use/intoxication had odds of alcohol-related driving risks that were from 1.6 to 2.2 times higher than those with a later onset of alcohol use or intoxication. Conclusions: Young women who commence drinking at an early age are at heightened risks for subsequent alcohol-related driving risks, and these associations cannot be explained entirely by familial liability for these behaviors.
